Gary Phoenix - Regional Manager Director

I joined Birse Civils in 2003 as a Business Manager reporting to the Regional MD in the South East. The regional business then was just beginning to build and provided an excellent opportunity to be part of that growth. I became the Regional Managing Director in early 2009.

Birse Civils provided both the training and exposure to new challenges to stretch my capabilities and aid my development. In addition to the usual in-house management and leadership training sessions, I was also enrolled on the Cranfield School of Management Advanced Development Programme, which proved the ideal platform for me to make the transition from manager to leader.

All Birse Civils regions operate autonomously and still have a ‘family business’ feel about them. Everybody knows everyone else and shares in the business successes and challenges.
