About Birse Civils

Western

The Western Region is a division of Birse Civils and part of the Balfour Beatty Group of Companies. Formerly part of the Midlands region, the Western region was established in 2007.  The region covers the South West, South Wales and the second largest city in the UK, Birmingham. The regional office is in Stonehouse, near Stroud,Glocs.

The Western region has a turnover of £20m, currently employing over 70 people. Our customer base is a mixture of public and private clients and our core expertise is in roads and infrastructure. Our high standards of customer care and early involvement are the cornerstones of our success.

The Western region now also carries out a wide range of coastal protection and sea defence works.  We work predominantly for public sector customers and are one of only 3 National Framework Contractors for the Environment Agency, working in partnership to defend the UK's coastline.  One of our areas of specialist expertise is precast concrete sea defences, in particular the design, casting and placing of bespoke concrete structures.  We also carry out projects for the construction, redevelopment and extension of ports, harbours and marinas.
