About Birse Civils

Eastern

Birse Eastern Region is a division of Birse Civils and part of the Balfour Beatty Group of Companies. The Eastern Region has a turnover of circa £50m and employs approximately 100 staff.

The regional office is based in Northampton and the geographical area covered is from Suffolk and Norfolk, to the East of the region, through to Leicestershire and Berkshire in the West.  This incorporates some of the major growth points in the UK, for example Aylesbury, Milton Keynes and Northamptonshire.

Our expertise is mainly in roads and bridges for both private and public customers, with schemes ranging from £2m to £90m, often incorporating an Early Contractor Involvement Phase, where we work with the customer to improve buildability and delivery confidence.  We are also engaged under framework arrangements with both the Highways and Environment Agencies.

Our delivery of projects for the benefit of wider society have been recognised through a number of recent awards:

  • ICE Thames Valley Major Project Award for Aylesbury Bourg-Walk Footbridge and Public Realm Works for Buckinghamshire County Council.
  • CEEQUAL and ICE East Midlands Major Project Award for Cross Valley Link Road in Northampton for the HCA.
