Coastal (National)
Birse Coastal is a national division of Birse Civils Limited and part of the Balfour Beatty Group of companies.
We work across all of the regions within the business, carrying out a wide range of coastal protection and sea defence work. We work predominantly for public sector customers and are one of only 3 National Framework Contractors for the Environment Agency, working in partnership to defend the UK's coastline. One of our areas of specialist expertise is pre-cast concrete sea defences, in particular the design, casting and placing of bespoke concrete structures. We also carry out projects for the construction, redevelopment and extension of ports, harbours and marinas.
Our highly customer-focused approach has led to a high level of repeat business. We bring a strong technical capability to our schemes, with much emphasis on finding optimum solutions through value engineering. Many of our projects include extensive early contractor involvement to get the best from the whole team.
